Product Knowledge: Understanding Diamonds
Diamonds are timeless symbols of love, celebrated for their brilliance, durability, and rarity. Derived from the Greek word “Adamas” (unconquerable), diamonds have been cherished throughout history for their beauty and strength.
The 4Cs of Diamonds
The 4Cs—Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat Weight—define a diamond’s quality and value:

Determines how well a diamond reflects light.
A precise cut enhances brilliance and sparkle.

Rated from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow/brown). Colorless diamonds are the most valuable.

Reflects the size of a diamond. Balance size with cut quality for the best visual appeal.

Measures the presence of natural imperfections. Most inclusions are microscopic and don’t impact beauty.
The Natural Diamond: Nature’s Masterpiece
Natural diamonds are composed of 99.95% pure carbon, crystallized in a cubic structure. They are the hardest known gemstone, scoring a 10 on the Mohs scale, with a melting point of 6,900°F (4,000°C) and exceptional brilliance due to their refractive index of 2.42. Fact: Only diamonds mined from the Earth are true natural diamonds. Terms like “cultured diamond” are misleading.
Physical and Optical Properties
Durability: Hardest natural substance, ideal for daily wear.Brilliance: Four times more reflective than glass.Thermal Stability: Withstands extreme heat and temperature changes. These attributes, combined with the 4Cs, make diamonds one of the most cherished gemstones in the world.
